The National Park Children’s Garden is being transformed into a community garden to promote community engagement through volunteership, patronage, education, and beautification, and to provide a modest amount of fresh fruit and vegetables to the community during harvest seasons.
CPR Action Plan
The revival of the National Park Community Garden will occur in three phases:
Clear
- Remove unwanted plant growth
- Remove old structures
Prepare
- Acquire volunteers
- Acquire gardening materials
- Plan new garden layout
Restart
- Plant, maintain, and harvest crops in scheduled phases
Current Action Plan Phase: Restart
Preserving a piece of history

The old children’s garden signpost will be restored and displayed in the garden to remember its former days and the local folks who dedicated their time to creating and maintaining the garden.
The new wooden signs will be cut by Dennis Burke, our mayor, and the restoration will be completed by Janet Butler.
